Man with “hub applications” on computer sentenced for violation of copyright law – Featured Legal

The man had together with another person held a file sharing service, and has made it possible for others to illegally download thousands of music files. He has now been sentenced for complicity in crimes against up-Copyright Act.

The service had 8830 copyright-protected music files made available to the public.

The man himself claimed that it was not he who had installed the software without installation had been carried out by the owner of the network where the current hub included.

As he himself had understood that he had only provided their hardware for a Hub software in a shorter period. He also claimed that it was not his task hub owners to check if the material distributed been copyrighted.

Since the man charged with assessing Södertälje district court, however, that 63-year-old has been well aware of the hub’s importance for file sharing and notes he also admitted that he has some control over the hub.

Complicity in crime
district court judges that it is undisputed that the man, together and in concert with another person , has organized a file sharing service that allowed users to illegally benefit from a large number of music files.

The man convicted of aiding and abetting the violation of copyright law and the sentence determined to probation with 40 daily fine of $ 50.
