Wifi channels – PC All

Hello

I know you want to find a channel that clashes as little as possible with its neighbors but how does one do if one uses two wireless devices in the apartment. Should you then select the same wifi channel on both.

The plan is to extend the wireless network by connecting a router to another.

I have read various articles and are still thinking what to do. I have got it to work, but find that speed is so low. It will lower both the default router and the router (which will act as an access point).

The default router is on 192.168.1.1 and has a spread from 192.168.1.2-192.168.1.200

I thought I would add Router 2 at 192.168.1.201 for it not to be no collision with the first. However, I wonder whether both should have the default gateway 192.168.1.1 for it is well ip address to connect to each router that is viktitga. I can also tell that I turned off DHCP on the router second

The clutch is as usual on Router 1 and when I plug in the router 2, I have only linked the LAN. On router 2, I will not use the WAN port. The speed is fine if I use Router 2 as a switch. DVS with cables, but when I connect wireless so it becomes low speed. Hope someone can explain this to me.

KTH students translate the software behind Wikipedia – Mynewsdesk (press release)

Wikimedia Sweden organizes November 27th an open event for the students at KTH in order to, inter alia, translate the software that runs Wikipedia from English to Swedish. These so-called translation sprint is a new type of events to further strengthen open source software and free knowledge and reach new dedicated and knowledgeable people. The students will also learn about the huge Wikimedia movement and can make new contacts.

The focus is to translate open source software into Swedish by translation platform Translatewiki.net. Students will be involved in the Swedish translate MediaWiki, the software including Wikipedia uses. Many messages to MediaWiki has already been translated, but it adds thousands of new messages every year that must be translated – and now offered KTH students in to help. While other open source software will be translated by the students of the time and interest.

“This is a new type of events to work actively to engage more students in our projects and give them a new and interesting hobby that really gives them a chance to make a difference. In fact, this is so new that a professor and a graduate student in Umeå is currently researching whether and how this works as a concept, “said John Andersson, Project Manager at Wikimedia Sweden.

A computer program or a website contains lots of text that is displayed to the user. This is for instance the texts that are visible on the buttons, or the error message that pops up when something goes wrong. The developer of the program often create text in English only. For anyone not fluent in reading English is not very user friendly and limit the opportunities for many people. Lack translations make the Internet less accessible to large sections of the community.

“To translate all texts will be very important and can potentially lead to the open software allows even greater achievements. Can we strengthen the group of translators, exciting things happen. The students are accustomed to working with English terms and can computers – so they are perfect for the task, “said John Andersson, Project Manager of the Wikimedia Sweden.

The event is also a partner Meta Solutions AB working with linked open data and to start using Translatewiki.net to translate their software Entry Cape. Meta Solutions is also involved in the ongoing further development of öppnadata.se which is Sweden’s national portal for open data. This mission is based entirely on open source software and implemented together with the Open Knowledge Foundation.

More and more companies base their business model around open source and it’s great to be able to get help from users who contribute translations. This approach opens up for users who are not willing or able to engage in technological development – to help with translations give these users an opportunity to make an important contribution to open source and feel involved, “says Hannes Ebner, co-founder and CEO of Meta Solutions.

Software revealed serious child rape – stepfather sentenced to nine years in prison – Today’s Legal

A 36-year-old man from Linköping been indicted for aggravated rape of his partner of seven and nine year old daughters sentenced to nine years in prison.

36-year-old was unveiled late last year when he stopped in a private USB stick, which he used to store child pornography on, in his work computer. The parastatals man was working on using : a software specifically designed to warn and expose child pornography.

The police conducted shortly after the search of 36-year-old house, which he shared with his then partner and her two daughters were born in 2004 and 2007.

In the home, police encountered more child pornography, among other things that 36-year-old self-produced by recording and photograph assault against the two stepdaughters.

36-year-old admitted that he exposed the girls to abuse, but denied that any kind of penetration occurred and stated that he was in deed occasions thought that the girls slept – although he realized in retrospect that it probably was not so.

The district court judge now 36-year-old to nine years in prison for, among other things, repeated cases of gross child rape and aggravated child pornography offenses.

The court finds, among other things, that it is already the man’s own recorded material is proven that penetration occurred – something which is also supported by the testimony of the now nine year old girl.

Finely tuned Volvo hits straight in the Swedish soul – Swedish Dagbladet

The engine shakes started. A six-cylinder sharp sound that is felt in the spine. The engine is old Volvo T6 engine at 305 horsepower with new turbo and laddkylare. I look around: Most of it looks like normal, a little carbon fiber center console, black headlining, a special outfit with Polestar logos on.
