Hard Tests Software – Mynewsdesk (press release)

SP has developed testing and evaluation of the quality of software. In the EU project Prowess SP has studied how to combine model-based testing (see bugs) and fault injection (evaluation of error handling in software;

SP has developed felinjiceringsverktyget FaultCheck that can be used together with a model-based software testing tools which test cases are generated automatically.

– to evaluate the new test method, we developed a quadrocopter simulator based on a hardware platform that we developed in a parallel research projects. Simulations with a few up to about 100 quadrocoptrar showed that they can avoid collisions even in the presence of faults, says Benjamin Vedder, a doctoral student at SP.

the work has resulted in knowledge and tools in testing, fault injection and simulation, as well as a technical licentiate Benjamin Vedder. SP will continue to work with field automatic testing of software and hardware in Benjamin’s work towards a PhD.

Prowess has been funded by the EU. Nine partners from industry and researchers from Europe have participated. Read more at: www.prowessproject.eu
