Early start racing on tågkonst – Swedish Dagbladet

– There is unusually early to get into artists before we started planning, therefore, we hope to get extra amounts of them, says Johny Lindenberg, architect of the Swedish Transport Administration, said.

– This is a ideas competition and everything is very open. The artists will be on site and work with architects and designers.

On Monday begins a stage in the international art procurement. It includes central Gothenburg and tågområdet around Olskrogen, which among other things will be fifteen bridges.

A tiomannajury led by Magdalena Malm, Director of the National Public Art Council, chooses which artists may participate. The jury also Annika von Hausswolff, visual artist.

A year starts phase two with a new round of the scheduled train stations at Cross Road and Haga, familiar and sensitive environments.

– communications are a national interest, cultural environments in Gothenburg another. To build Västlänken we must incorporate the cultural environment so that the visibility of the facility, and the art can be a way to do this, says Johny Lindeberg.
