Skåne and the Israeli Mossad does best decision “- IDG.se

decision

It has come to be about winning or disappearing in today’s business world:
to be able to use the huge amount of data and information in a business that support to make sensible decisions. The decision support software is called for. Business intelligence is the international term.

It is a market that has skyrocketed in the last decade – and this year is expected global sales to be $ 16.9 billion, according to research firm Gartner.

it is also a market where it has developed several successful Swedish companies and created thousands of jobs at preferably young companies.

In Sweden we are exceptionally talented when it comes to decision-making. It says Filip Ekstrand who have been in the Swedish intelligence industry since the mid 90’s and is now a senior partner at the consulting company Advince – and stresses especially the southern part of the country.

 – Scania and Israeli intelligence Mossad stands out when it comes to decision-making. It is the origin of very many successful ideas.

As for Scania, it is easy to identify nowadays Nasdaq Listed Qlik who grew up in the Ideon Science Park and the Malmö-based Hypergene who achieved great success since its inception in 2000 and now has annual sales of SEK 120 million. But when it comes to Israeli intelligence?

– There are many good products derived therefrom, such as Panorama Software. It is not really surprising: Intelligence and intelligence is based on the same principles – to assemble relevant information from different places and build a complete picture, says Filip Ekstrand.

If you see to Sweden, it is not only in the south as it developed software for decision support. A number of Swedish companies are well advanced and this applies both established wide consulting company Knowit and Acando, and more specialized companies Dize Analytics. And the attentive noted in mid-January that the Umeå-based Trim acquired by Visma. Trimming tools Insight is based on Microsoft and includes modules for analysis, budgeting, planning and performance management.

Said Hypergene started around the turn of the millennium and has an annual growth rate of 25 percent. Now the annual turnover of 120 million (2015) and has 110 employees. CEO Per Hidenius says the company is the urge to venture beyond Sweden’s borders now.

 – We see a huge potential abroad, especially in the other Scandinavian countries. There is absolutely not the same range of intelligence there as it is in Sweden.

How come the that Sweden is so far ahead in terms of decision-making?
 – In addition to the environment, there are skilled entrepreneurs and engineers here, so I think that is very customer driven. Sweden has traditionally been good at business with the three i’s (Intentia, IBS and IFS). It has created an infrastructure and an environment where there are large amounts of data – which in turn paved the way for a second wave, namely the decision. My feeling is that customers in Sweden are open to change and stay ahead

The big challenge Hypergene has been finding skills. The strong growth in personnel.

– It’s been very challenging periods, but I must say that it has become easier. I think it is because we have become more well known as a company.

The fact that Sweden is in the forefront is no coincidence, I think Filip Ekstrand on Advince.

– we are of the traditional open with our data and share with us. There is a huge amount of public information, which is reliable, easy to use and free. It is a good basis for solutions in decision-making to emerge.

– Also, I think the record that managers in Swedish companies in more than abroad, civil engineers, they like to count and analyze.
