Robot that kids can program – New Technology

       

Ringo reminiscent of things you can build with Lego Mindstorms. Thus robots that can be programmed to follow the example lines on a floor, guided by sound and avoid collisions with other objects.

But Ringo is completed and is currently being launched through Kickstarter, where all capital flowed in for a production start in May.

In the little robot that is controlled through the embedded microcontroller Arduino UNO is accelerometers, gyroscopes and sensors for light, sound and infrared light, which makes it also can be controlled from a remote control for the television.

The programmed from the start are ten different patterns of movement for those who want to quickly begin playing. Anyone wishing to write their own programs make it through software for Arduino running in a computer and then loiter over to Ringo.

In connection with the sale starts, the company Plum Geek who developed the robot release all files, schematics and other information as open source for anyone wanting to build their own robot or modify Ringo.
