No more speeding fines – New Technology

       

Many motorists driving too fast by mistake. You simply have not been paying attention to a new speed limits.

To prevent such situations, Ford has developed a technique they call Intelligent Speed limits the introduction this fall will be in the company car S-Max for the European market, Ford writes on his site.

In the car has a front facing camera via image recognition reads traffic signs and the wheels are speed sensors through software throttles the gas instead of the brake if the speed is too high.

When detected, even temporary signs which are not included in the GPS-based navigation system.

But the driver has still always the opportunity to determine the speed and bypass the system by pressing the accelerator pedal.

The driver can set the warning system so that it allows a speeds that are up to 8 km / h faster than the road sign indicates.

According to Ford gets about 15 000 British drivers every year speeding fine over the corresponding 1000 crowns. And in Finland are examples of drivers fined the equivalent of half a million dollars to the breach of a speed limit of 80 km / h by 23 km / h, writes the BBC.
