VW’s new CEO: Both software and hardware to be adjusted – New Technology

Matthias Müller, Volkswagen Group’s newly appointed CEO, spoke in front of 20 000 people who had gathered at the factory in Wolfswurg on Tuesday. He told me that a project team has prepared a plan for diesel scandal should be addressed, and that the Group will shortly present a technical solution. Before it is introduced it must godlkännas by the relevant authorities, primarily the German Transport Authority (KBA).

– In many cases it is sufficient with a software update. Some vehicles will require even hardware adjustments, said Matthias Müller, according to a press release.

He told me that in the present situation can not be beat though how much the measures will cost the group. But hard savings is waiting. All investments that are not absolutely necessary will be postponed or canceled, and the company’s efficiency program will be intensified.

– To speak clear: There will not be a painless process, said Matthias Müller.

All the car owners, the next few days to get information about that their cars need some time at the workshop to be addressed.
