Wacom drawing tablets new beginners are really affordable – PC All

Wacom has launched three new budget-pen plates; Intuos Art, Comic, and Intuos Intuos Photography. Compared with more professional Wacom pen plates, these cheaper versions fewer functions and features. For example, they only have 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, instead of 2048, have poorer resolution, fewer buttons, lacks precision location and the pens are not tilt sensitive.

What distinguishes the three packets apart is in practice only the software supplied. If you buy Intuos Art you get with Corel Painter Essentials 5, with the Intuos Comic supplied Clip Studio Paint Pro and Anime Studio Debut 10 and the Intuos Photography package is Corel After Shot Pro 2 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 8 (Windows) or Macphun Creative Kit (OSX ).

The exception is the Intuos Art, where the pen tablet comes in two sizes – small and medium. The Comic and Photography is the size small that apply. In addition, there Photo-pen tablet only in black, while the Art and Comic is available in black or blue. The flexible format of the pen plates in the size small makes them ideal for use together with a portable computer.

Wacom has also released package Wacom Intuos Draw for 700 crowns. Penn plate in this package lacks touch function, available in the size small and the colors blue or white. The included software is ArtRage Lite. That we have not tested this.

Hyfsat easy installation

We tested all three packages and also both sizes of the pen plates. Common to them all was that the hardware installation went very smoothly. It was just to install the drivers and plug in the pen tablet as we were running.

To install the software, however, was not as easy. It required registration and some searching on the Wacom site and then a little tinkering with the serial number and the like before we could start using.

Qualitatively seen it quite clear that this is Wacom’s budgetary options. Besides the lack of features in comparison with the Pro versions feels these pen plates right plastiga and cheap. The same applies to software. They are okay, but not much more. Best is Corel Painter Essentials 5 that comes with Intuos Art.
